Fantastic $30 Map-Making Humble Bundle Represents a Virtual Tabletop Game Master's Fantasy
Following a brief run earlier this year, the Map Making Mega Bundle is back with an encore available through early December. Hailed as a "treasure trove of assets and apps" created by a specialized software company throughout their history, the complete package is valued at over $1,300. And there are multiple package options available here.
Primary Feature
The standout feature is certainly permanent access to the CC3+ software, a professional-grade mapping application which enables users to generate various types including fantasy overworld maps, detailed regional charts, urban layouts, and, perhaps most importantly, dungeon and tabletop battle maps.
An imaginative landscape chart generated in the CC3+ software platform.
Package Levels
Basic Package
The most affordable option, at a minimum cost of $1, includes only four of the 39 total items: Fantasy Overland Symbol Collection, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Source Maps: Castles!, and Source Maps: Cities!. This one's only for cartographers who already have CC3+, yet it provides new fantasy symbol styles for overworld maps, more than 750 monster tokens compatible with online gaming platforms, more than two dozen top-down castle layouts including hundreds of map markers, eight complete urban centers, and more than 70 urban floorplans.
Intermediate Package
The eight-item bundle for at least $15 offers enhanced value through inclusion of a lifetime CC3+ license, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Tome of Ultimate Mapping, and Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities. Cartographer's Annual is the annual collection from the company's long-running monthly subscription service featuring a variety CC3+ add-ons like map collections and additional utilities. Isometric Cities lets you present urban areas in 3D perspective using angled views from all sides. And the Tome of Ultimate Mapping is a 760-page for beginners and "power users" alike, full of tips and tutorials for the map-making process.
Complete Collection
Starting at thirty dollars, the 39-item bundle contains these components:
- Advanced Terrain Generator
- Dungeon Designer 3
- Urban Planning Software
- Cosmic Mapping System
- Viewpoint Enhancement
- Scene Builder
- Character Design Module
- Fantasy Interior Symbols
- Contemporary Design Pack
- Symbol Set 4: Dungeons of Schley
- Symbol Set 5: Cities of Schley
- Monster Token Collection 2
- Source Maps: Temples, Tombs and Catacombs
- Historical War Maps
- World Creation Guide
- Cartographer’s Annual Vol 1-17
- Permanent CC3+ Access
- 3D City Symbols
- Tome of Ultimate Mapping
- Fantasy Landscape Symbols
- Token Treasury: Monsters 1
- Fortress Source Maps
- Metropolitan Source Maps
All 17 volumes of Cartographer's Annual are included here, plus numerous other resource and asset packs that can help users design entire planets or galaxies, or focus exclusively on classic fantasy realm creation: battle maps, underground complexes, urban centers, and land masses from almost any perspective. Users can also create character illustrations. For $30 as opposed to $15, the full bundle is so worth it, particularly for mappers who have only the annual CC3+ license seeking permanent licensing. However, it's clearly more advantageous for cartography beginners since it includes the beginners' tutorials to facilitate learning. The one caveat here is that while the purchase is available across platforms, the software is only usable on Windows.
Charitable Component
Similar to previous bundles, a portion of each sale goes to benefit a nonprofit. For this one, that's Save the Children, established in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb focused on improving the lives of children worldwide through education, health care, and emergency relief. The Bundle Filters option appear near the page top, though users may also choose their donation amount in the right-hand section. There's also an donation allocation menu immediately below, enabling adjustment of how much of your donation goes to Humble, Profantasy, and Save the Children.
